Lantal Textiles AG acquires Airline Services Interiors in the UK
With the acquisition of Airline Services Interiors, Lantal is systematically pursuing its globalization thrust and its evolution as a partner for comprehensive cabin solutions. Customers benefit from efficient and time-saving solutions because the complete range of passenger cabin services is provided with single-source convenience.
Airline Services Interiors, a unit of the Airline Services Group, and Lantal can look back on a long period of close and dependable collaboration: the company has been producing Lantal’s pleated curtains for many years. Since it was founded over 30 years ago, the Manchester-based operation has become a market leader in the do-main of airline industry cabin completion. Airline Services Interiors, the business ac-quired by Lantal, develops and delivers cost-effective, high-quality customer-specific solutions for the refurbishment, modernization, and upgrade of cabin interiors. It em-ploys 116 persons. Additionally, the company designs, develops, and produces af-fordable spare parts such as armrests, tray tables, seat covers and pleated or sewn curtains.
Ongoing transformation to systems partner status
For several years now, Lantal has been transforming itself from a yardage supplier to a problem-solving systems partner for comprehensive passenger cabin services that supports customers with lean and efficient solutions. With this most recent ac-quisition, Lantal has achieved a further key milestone for its ongoing strategic evolu-tion. Important steps in this direction were accomplished with the integration in 2016 of ACC in Germany and the establishment of Lantal Parts s.r.o. in the Czech Repub-lic in 2017. The Lantal Group’s spectrum of deliverables was expanded with cut & sew services such as ready-made seat covers and headrests as well as the overhaul and modernization of seats and cabin components. Now, with the capabilities of Air-line Services Interiors, the scope of deliverables includes total aircraft cabin mainte-nance covering the entire value chain.
In addition to Richard Dobson (Managing Director, Airline Services Interiors), the board of directors of Lantal’s new subsidiary includes Gregor Walthert (Lantal’s Ex-ecutive Vice President of Finance), Heiko Nüssel (Partner, Lantal’s Executive Vice President of Compliance & Certification), and Andreas Christen (Lantal’s Executive Vice President Technics).
